Do You Want a Resolution or a Revolution?

Instead of 2009 being about resolving to do better, how about a change in mindset . . . what if you decided to BE a revolution. Look up the word "revolution" in Webster's and one definition is "a sudden, radical, or complete change" or "a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something : a change of paradigm." How do we change our way of thinking? Romans 12:2 says we renew our minds.

The only real and lasting change in our thinking can be through Jesus Christ. "Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2 So, how do we renew our mind? Through meditating on the WORD--and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus IS the Word. We change our thinking by relationship with God, by spending time in His Word.

Change your mind . . . change your thinking . . . change your life . . . change your world. I believe each of us is called to make an impact today and throughout the upcoming year, more than ever before.

Remember Kirk Franklin's song, "Do You Want a Revolution?" I want more than resolve, I want to be a revolution in my sphere of influence. I'll ask you today, "Do YOU?" I challenge you this year in your way of thinking to do more than resolve to do better, but BRING ON A REVOLUTION of positive change and influence in your world.

Do You Set Goals or Resolutions?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on setting New Year's Resolutions or goals for 2009. Do you set them only to break them? Or have you broken so many resolutions that this year you've vowed not to set any . . . period.

I'm setting two resolutions this year: 1) to finish a writing project and 2) get rid of clutter in my home and create a more inspirational home.

What do you see as success in not just setting a goal, but actually following through with it? What are your goals/resolutions (if any) for 2009?
